The entrance of the temple consists of three parallel arches. The gatehouse has cornices up and down, and the building is exquisite. On the red wall at the side of the gate, the words "There is no Amitabha in the south" are written. The temples in the temple stand tall and tree-lined and are very spectacular. There are Drum Tower and Bell Tower around the entrance, and Tianwang Temple is in front. In the center of the hall, there is a statue of Maitreya, with four grotesque statues on each side, which are lifelike. Behind the temple is a statue of Wei Tuo, the patron saint.
The Hall of Ursa Major is built behind Tianwang Temple, which is the center of the whole temple. Its appearance is solemn and magnificent, with staggered arches, high eaves, carved beams and colorful paintings. The center of the hall is dedicated to Sakyamuni Buddha, with eighteen arhats on both sides; Behind the temple is a Buddha statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva; Then there is the Buddhist Scripture Building, which has a large collection of Buddhist scriptures. In front of the main hall, pine and cypress trees are towering, and the ancient trees are towering, which is particularly magnificent in contrast to the red and green of the main hall. There are dozens of east and west wing rooms in the temple, namely Zen Hall, Zhaitang Hall and Living Room. On the eighth, eighteenth and twenty-eighth day of the fourth lunar month, believers hold temple fairs here. At that time, tens of thousands of people often came here for sightseeing and were very busy.
1923, Shi, a Buddhist master of Tiantai Sect, came to Changchun to give a lecture on Prajna Heart Sutra, and later founded a temple named prajna temple. Prajna temple was originally built in Xisi Road, Nanguan District. 193 1, moved to the existing site of West Changchun Street for reconstruction.
Today, prajna temple covers an area of 1 40,000 square meters, with a building area of 2,700 square meters. It is the largest China Temple in Changchun. Entering the mountain gate, there is a bell tower in the east and a drum tower in the west. These two buildings are of peculiar design and exquisite workmanship. Every important festival, bells will ring here.
The backyard of Sanxian Temple in the west is the end of prajna temple, and outside the wall are noisy roads and markets. There are three tower-shaped buildings in this small courtyard: the front one is a building to commemorate the 70th birthday of the founder Xu; The last two towers are Xu Yan and the second generation mage Shu Pei.
Since its establishment, prajna temple has been the center of Buddhism in Changchun, and now it is the seat of Buddhist associations in Jilin Province and Changchun City.
