How do Korean retired athletes support themselves?
Internationally, it is not uncommon for countries to implement the national system or similar mechanism in competitive sports. South Korea is a typical example.

South Korea has set up two athletes' villages specially for the national teams of more than a dozen advantageous sports. The athletes' village integrates training, life, scientific research, logistics, rehabilitation and other functions, and has become the base camp of top athletes in Korea. The centralized management and strict management of the athletes' village have trained the vast majority of Olympic champions in Korea.

Although from the training system, China and South Korea should be said to be similar. However, it is rare for Korean athletes to live in distress after retirement. In 2008, South Korean retired baseball star Lee Ho-sung committed suicide by throwing himself into the river, and was once suspected by the China media that he had no livelihood after retiring. In fact, after Li Haocheng retired, he successively ran a wedding etiquette company and set foot in real estate investment. Obviously, this can't be explained by "retirement and reduced income". The failure of business investment is the main reason for Li Haocheng's suicide.

Why do Korean athletes have the spare capacity to participate in investment after retirement? This is closely related to the after-care security system for retired athletes in South Korea. (Excerpted from World Expo 15 Huatingwen 20 1 1)
