In May of the 14th year of the Great Cause of Sui Dynasty (6 18), Yongle County was established in Sui Dynasty (near Yongji, Yingzhou District, Fuyang City), and in May of the 4th year of Tang Wude (62 1), Pingwang was built in Gyangze (an ancient city located 7.5km northwest of the city), belonging to Yongle County. In six years, Yongle County was abolished and merged into Ruyin County (now Yingzhou District, Fuyang City).
