Taihu Lake is located at the junction of southern Jiangsu Province and northern Zhejiang Province. It is the largest lake in the eastern coastal area of China and the third largest freshwater lake in China. Taihu Lake belongs to Suzhou City, Wuxi City and Zhejiang Province. Among the surrounding areas of Taihu Lake, Suzhou and Wuxi each occupy a part of Taihu Lake waters. Specifically, Taihu Lake occupies nearly three quarters of the water area in Suzhou, while it occupies a smaller area in Wuxi, accounting for about one quarter. Therefore, although Taihu Lake is related to Suzhou and Wuxi, it does not belong to any of them. Taihu Lake is famous for its beautiful lakes and mountains, cultural landscape and rich history and culture, which attracts many tourists.
