Where does the "Tianya Haijiao" belong?
Tianya Haijiao Tourist Area is located in Tianya District, Sanya City, about 23 kilometers southwest of the main city, backed by Maling Mountain and facing the vast sea. It is the first tourist attraction in Hainan in the 20 years since the establishment of the province, the first tourist brand in Hainan in the 60th anniversary of the founding of New China, and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. There are hundreds of stones standing on the beach of the scenic bay, among which Tianya Stone, Haijiao Stone, Riyue Stone and Nantianyizhu are the most prominent.

Historical legends:

The two big stones "Tianya" and "Cape" also have their origins. It is said that a pair of lovestruck men and women came from two feuding families, and their love was opposed by their own people, so they were forced to flee here, and they both jumped into the sea and turned into two huge stones, always facing each other. Later generations carved the words "Tianya" and "Cape" to commemorate their faithful love. Later, when men and women fall in love, they often use "the ends of the earth always follow" to show their intention.

According to legend, a long time ago, the sea around Li 'an in Lingshui was surging, and people's lives were difficult. When the two fairies under the Queen Mother knew it, they sneaked down to the earth and stood in the South China Sea to guide local fishermen to fish. The Queen Mother was angry and sent Lei Gong and Rem to meet them, but they refused. They turned into bimodal stones and were cut into two pieces, one of which fell into the sea near Li 'an and the other flew to the end of the world, becoming today's "Southern Tianzhu".

Historical origin

In the fifty-third year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (17 14), three imperial envoys of Qin Dynasty wrote the stone carving "The sea judges the south sky" at the seaside of Xiamaling, the boundary between heaven and earth in China. The sky in the south refers to the area where the sun runs, "trial" refers to cutting in half, and "sea" refers to the South China Sea. The comprehensive meaning of "the sea determines the southern sky" means that the "South China Sea" is divided into "South China Sea" and "North Sea". In the southeast of this stone carving, there is another cut stone, which represents the height of the sun at noon from winter to Sunday in Sanya. The stone carving of "the sea judges the south sky" represents the height of the North Pole here.

During the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty (1727), Cheng Zhe, the magistrate of Yazhou, wrote the word "Tianya" on a seashore boulder in Tianya Bay. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period of the Republic of China, Wang Yi, commander of Qiongya garrison, wrote the word "Cape" on the adjacent boulder. 196 1, Guo Moruo wrote seven characters "Tianya Haijiao Tourist Area" on the other side of the "Tianya" stone. At this point, this coastal area near Tianya Bay has become a veritable "Tianya Haijiao".
