With the world-class intangible cultural heritage "the custom of the Dragon Boat Festival along the Miluo River" and the national intangible cultural heritage "Changle Pavilion Story Meeting", it is "the famous Dragon Boat City in China" and "the hometown of poetry in China", and is known as "the source of the Dragon Boat Festival, the hometown of dragon boats, the hometown of poetry", "the upper reaches of the blue ink, and the holy land of intellectuals".
The Miluo River is the place where Qu Yuan, a Chu writer and a famous patriotic poet, went to the Warring States to sing and died in the river. There are historical buildings commemorating Qu Yuan such as Quzi Temple and Quzi Yuan Mu, and tourist attractions such as Quzi Cultural Park and Quzi Academy. The traffic in Miluo is developed, with Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway, National Highway 107, National Highway 240, Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway and Double Track, Provincial Highway 2 10 from north to south, Pingyi Expressway, National Highway 536 and Provincial Highway 308 from east to west.
Miluo has a solid agricultural foundation, which is an important commodity grain production base and a big county for pig transfer. In 20021year, Miluo was ranked 95th among the top 100 counties with CCID investment competitiveness, and ranked 10 as the advanced county with high-quality development of county economy in the whole province. From 2065438 to March 2009, Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and National Cultural Heritage Administration announced the list of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics (the first batch), and Miluo City was among them.
