The geographical environment of Jiangxi:
1, landform
The topography of Jiangxi province is dominated by hills and mountains in the south of the Yangtze River. Basins and valleys are widely distributed and slightly plain. Geographically, bounded by Jinjiang-Xinjiang line, it belongs to Jiangnan uplift of Yangtze paraplatform in the north and South China fold system in the south. At the end of Silurian, they were merged by the late Caledonian movement, and then they were reformed by Indosinian movement, Yanshan movement and Himalayan movement for many times, forming a series of northeast-southwest structural belts. A large number of granites invaded the south, and red clastic rocks from Cretaceous to Paleogene were deposited in the basin, with gypsum and rock salt deposits.
2. Climate
The climate belongs to the subtropical warm and humid monsoon climate, and the annual average temperature is about 16.3- 19.5℃, which generally rises from north to south. The annual average temperature in northeastern Jiangxi, mountainous areas in northwestern Jiangxi and Poyang Lake Plain is 16.3- 17.5℃, and that in southern Jiangxi Basin is 19.0- 19.5℃. The summer is long, and the average temperature in July is 28.0-29.8℃ except for the surrounding mountainous areas in the province.
3. Hydrology
Jiangxi province has a high terrain in the south and a low terrain in the north, which is conducive to the convergence of water sources, dense water networks and abundant precipitation. However, the seasonal change of river water volume has a slight impact on shipping. The surface runoff in eastern Jiangxi is greater than that in western Jiangxi, and that in mountainous areas is greater than that in plains. There are more than 2,400 rivers in the province, with a total length of 1.84 million kilometers, except that the marginal parts belong to the Pearl River and Xiangjiang River basins and directly flow into the Yangtze River.
