Wanfo Hall is located in Wanfo Hall Village, 9 kilometers northwest of Xiangyi County, with Daling River in front and Fushan Mountain in the back.

Grottoes were founded in the 23rd year of Taihe in the Northern Wei Dynasty (499), which is the earliest and largest grottoes in Liaoning. * * * There are large and small stones 16. There are 9 caves in the western area, which are divided into upper and lower floors, 3 in the upper floor and 6 in the lower floor. Built in the 23rd year of Taihe in the Northern Wei Dynasty, it was built by Yuanzhi, the secretariat of Yingzhou, for praying for disaster relief. There are seven caves in the eastern area, which were built in Jingming, Northern Wei Dynasty for three years. This is a private cave built by Wei Yu, Qi Dan, Han Zhen and others for praying. Among the nine grottoes in the western region, the upper three caves, namely caves 7, 8 and 9, have weathered, and the lower caves, 1, 5 and 6, are larger in scale. The first cave is well preserved. There are three grottoes, two meters high, five meters high at the top, square and flat-topped, and about seven meters long. There is a square stone pillar leading to the top of the cave in the middle of the grotto, and two niches are carved on each side. The statue in the niche below is the work of later generations. The Buddha statue, portrait and metaplasia boy on the pointed arch are all works of the Northern Wei Dynasty, with powerful knife skills and vivid images. The ceiling of the cave is carved with flying sky, the top of the cave door is carved with three rows of sitting buddhas, and the top of the outer side is carved with a niche with Buddha statues inside. There are also niches carved on the stone wall in the cave, and the four corners of the cave are carved with statues of the four great kings respectively. The inscription on the fifth cave was written by jing yuan, the general of Pingtung, when he was building a cliff in 499 AD. It is an important historical material and was rated as "the best in Yuan and Wei Dynasties" by Kang Youwei in the late Qing Dynasty.

Among the seven grottoes in the eastern region, the sixth grotto has the largest number of stone carvings, including Sakyamuni's sitting statue, thousands of Buddha statues, Manjusri's question and answer Buddha, and hundreds of operas. The inscriptions on the statues of Han Zhen in the five major grottoes record the beginning and end of the construction of grottoes, which are important historical materials for studying the grottoes in the eastern region. There is a small cylindrical pagoda named Wenfeng Pagoda at the top of the East Cave, which was built by the commander-in-chief of the Ming Dynasty in the tenth year (1474) for his mother Wu Zhushou.
