Theme and artistic characteristics of dragon and phoenix and dragon silk paintings.
The figures in the two silk paintings are located in the center of the picture, lying on their sides. Men are brave and handsome, and women are dignified and pious. The facial description of the characters reflects the age and temperament of the object, and has certain portrait elements. The costumes and dragon shapes of figures still exude a strong decorative atmosphere and have obvious early painting characteristics. The shape is outlined by a single line, painted flat and slightly rendered, with complete and harmonious composition and smooth and tough lines. This work is made of silk and painted with a brush. Lines are the backbone of modeling. All this fully shows that the basic elements and main features of China's traditional painting were formed as early as the Warring States Period. As tomb paintings, both works embody the theme of inspiring the soul to ascend to heaven.
