Henan dialect is mainly popular in Henan and its surrounding areas. Due to the large population in Henan, political, war, economic, sports and other reasons, the mobility of population leads to a large number of groups mainly speaking Henan dialect in many areas outside Henan.
Henan dialect is sincere and simple, with melodious tone and rich feelings. In ancient times, the official language of the Tang Dynasty with Luoyang as its capital was Henan dialect, while the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the Southern Song Dynasty adopted the official language of their previous dynasties (Western Jin Dynasty and Northern Song Dynasty), which was also Henan dialect.

Phonetic Changes of Henan Dialect
Henan dialect, especially northern Henan dialect, is rich in tone sandhi. For example, the Z-variant rhyme and D-variant rhyme in Huojia dialect are widely distributed in northern Henan and its adjacent areas (including the Yellow River, Shanxi, Shandong and Hebei).
Tone sandhi includes partials and chorus. The former is reflected in splitting into two, changing the original sound of a single syllable into two syllables, for example, changing "hole" into "hole" as an L embedded word or conjunction. The latter is embodied in the combination of two or more syllables into one syllable.
Many words such as "how to do", "up", "down" and "out" in Henan dialect are connected (reading a word, taking the initial of the first word, taking the vowel and tone of the second word, similar to the ancient phonetic notation "anti-tangent"). Erhua rhyme is also a kind of chorus.
