Fairy Town, located on the banks of Fuxi River in Yantan District, was called Xiantan in ancient times. The Sui Dynasty, which was founded more than 65,438+0,400 years ago, was changed to Shixian in the 22nd year of the Republic of China (AD 65,438+0,933). Since the Ming Dynasty, Ziliujing Salt Field has flourished, and Shijiazhuang has now become the main transportation route for well salt to leave Zigong. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the business travel in the town soared and the market expanded. It was famous for its four streets, four doors, five temples, three piers, one carp, three arches, nine monuments and ten places, as well as exquisite classical architecture and Buddhist culture. Temple fairs in the past were very lively, especially the "Zhong Kui Drive" on the sixth day of the sixth lunar month. It is a famous historical and cultural town in Sichuan Province.
Fairy Town has completely preserved the pattern and architectural features of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Nanhua Palace (built in A.D. 1862), Tianhou Palace (built in A.D. 1850) and other ancient buildings have different shapes and are lifelike. On May 1 day and1day every year, the "Folk Culture Tourism Week of Shixian Ancient Town" with the theme of "Visiting Shixian Ancient Town and Taste Folk Custom" will be held.
