First, the marriage registration procedures are different:
Soldiers need the approval of the army to get married. Ordinary marriage can be married as long as both men and women are unmarried and reach the legal age for marriage.
The General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army of China 1980 12.29 issued the Interim Provisions on the Implementation of the Marriage Law of the People's Republic of China by the Armed Forces, stipulating that a soldier who wants to get married must first be examined and approved by the armed forces, and his date of birth, nationality and marital status must be proved by the political organ of his unit. Then you can go to the local marriage registration office to register your marriage.
Second, the divorce procedure is different:
Ordinary marriage divorce can be negotiated as long as there is no relevant dispute between men and women, while military marriage divorce will be decided by the court if the soldiers disagree, unless the relationship between husband and wife cannot be maintained.
Article 26 of the Marriage Law stipulates: "If the spouse of an active serviceman requests a divorce, he must obtain the consent of the active serviceman."
If a serviceman files for divorce, or both of them are servicemen, it shall be handled in accordance with the provisions of Article 25 of the Marriage Law.
Third, the marriage leave is different:
Ordinary marriage: according to the legal age for marriage, if a man reaches the age of 22 and a woman reaches the age of 20, he will enjoy marriage leave for 3 days; Those who meet the age of late marriage, male 25 years old and female 23 years old, can enjoy 15 days of marriage leave (including legal marriage leave of 3 days).
Military marriage: In addition to the marriage leave stipulated by the state, soldiers who marry late can enjoy 7 days of marriage leave, that is, up to 22 days of marriage leave.
