National standard for disposable paper cups
On June 1 day, the national standard of "Paper Cup" issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the National Standards Committee was officially implemented. Disposable paper cups shall meet the following standards:

Patterns cannot be printed in the range of 1 and 15mm at the cup mouth.

Previously, disposable paper cups only had industry standards and lacked national standards. This national standard (GB/T 27590-20 1 1) puts forward higher requirements for raw materials, additives, packaging and printing of paper cups to ensure the safety of consumers.

The most concerned thing is to put forward the requirement of printing position for the first time, which stipulates that the printed pattern on the outside of the paper cup should be clear in outline, uniform in color and free from obvious stains, but "it is not allowed to print within the range of 15mm from the mouth of the cup and 10mm from the bottom of the cup".

"It is a kind of protection for consumers that the cup mouth is not printed." Dong Jinshi, executive vice president and secretary general of the International Food Packaging Association, said that at present, there is no concept of food-grade ink in China, and there is no printing ink that can be used to contact food. When drinking water, the lips touch the mouth of the cup, and the ink in the printed pattern may be ingested, especially the benzene-containing ink is more harmful to health. At the same time, when the cup is covered, there is a printed pattern on the bottom of the cup, which is easy to rub the color on the inner wall of another cup, so there is no printing on the bottom of the cup.

2. Fluorescent brighteners cannot be artificially added.

In the raw materials for making paper cups, in order to avoid the generation of toxic solvents, national standards stipulate that paper cups should not have peculiar smell and recycled materials should not be used. Additives used in raw materials should comply with the provisions of the implementation standards, and additives such as fluorescent brighteners, industrial paraffin and industrial talcum powder that are not within the scope of GB 9685 shall not be used to produce and process paper cups. ?

Dong Jinshi said that this means that "even the contaminated leftovers in the workshop should not be used for the production and processing of paper cups. All raw materials and additives should meet the requirements of food packaging, and fluorescent brighteners should not be artificially added. " And encourage the use of water-based ink, ultraviolet curing ink, vegetable oil ink and other energy-saving and environmentally friendly inks to produce paper cups.

In addition, the standard also stipulates the stiffness and breathability of paper cups. The bottom and side of the paper cup should not leak or seep. If the paper cup is too soft, it will not meet the standard. All packaging materials of paper cups should have sufficient tightness and firmness, and the packaging of paper cups should be dustproof, moisture-proof and mildew-proof.

Extended data:

Beverage paper cups can be divided into cold cups and hot cups. Cold cups are used to hold cold drinks, such as carbonated drinks and iced coffee. Hot cups are used to hold hot drinks, such as coffee and black tea.

Distinguish between cold drink cups and hot drink paper cups. They "do their job". Once "misplaced", it will threaten the health of consumers. The surface of the cold drink paper cup should be sprayed with wax or dipped in wax. Because cold drinks will accumulate water on the surface of the paper cup, it will make the paper cup soft, and it can be waterproof after being coated with wax. This kind of wax is very stable and safe at 0 ~ 5℃.

However, if it is used to hold hot drinks, as long as the temperature of the drinks exceeds 62℃, the wax will melt and the paper cups will absorb water and deform. The content of impurities in melted paraffin wax is high, especially the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which may cause cancer and endanger people's health when they enter the human body with drinks.

The surface of the hot drink paper cup will be coated with a special polyethylene film recognized by the state, which is not only good in heat resistance, but also non-toxic when soaked in high-temperature drinks. Paper cups should be stored in a ventilated, cool, dry and pollution-free space, and the storage period should generally not exceed two years from the date of production.
