The territory of Shouguang County has changed in many dynasties. Xia dynasty used to be a land of irrigation and a country of Kyrgyzstan; The Han Dynasty was under the jurisdiction of Zichuan State. Gradually, many Hou Guofeng people were settled here. Since Shouguang Hou, it has been called Shouguang.
