The reason why this cave is called Jiutian Cave is because there are nine floors in myths and legends, that is, nine days, and there are nine big holes in this cave. Together with the legendary Tiangong, the landscape can be beautiful, so it is called Jiutian Cave.

Jiutian Cave was developed in the Paleozoic Ordovician limestone stratum in the geosynchronous period, which is a sedimentary stratum in the sea (facies). Its generation age was 440-500 million years ago, but the formation of Jiutian Cave was only about one million years. Jiutian Cave is 5 18m long and 5- 18m high, with a round trip of about1.2km. The structure in the cave is very stable, and there are 37 kinds of chemical deposits in the cave. Among them, there are seven rare types, such as large-area spherical crystal, needle-like crystal, moonstone, stone flower and Shi Lian, which are known as the four wonders in nine days. They are the caves with the most rare landscape types and the most stone flowers in China, which have important scientific and ornamental value. 1994 Professor Chen of Chinese Academy of Sciences identified Jiutian Cave as the largest Shihua Cave in China; 1999 Professor Beishi Mainland was awarded as China Cave Boutique Landscape Museum; Professor Zhu 200 1, President of Geological Society of China Cave Research Association, believes that Jiutian Cave is the first stone cave in the world because of its various types and vast area.
