Gaoping District, located on the east bank of the middle reaches of Jialing River, is one of the three districts under the jurisdiction of Nanchong City, a regional central city in northeast Sichuan, with an area of 806 square kilometers and a population of 600,000. It governs 19 towns (streets) with profound cultural background and rich tourism resources. Known as the "hometown of silk" and "hometown of citrus", it has successively won the titles of culturally advanced county in Sichuan Province and the most influential tourist scenic spot in China.
Gaoping is rich in human resources. Known as the "country of fruits" since ancient times, Han 'an County was established in the Han Dynasty, Nanchong County was established in the Sui Dynasty, and 1993 withdrew from the county to build a town, which has a history of more than 2,200 years. In the Song Dynasty, the natural and cultural landscapes represented by Baita, the old city of spring outing, Lingyun Mountain, jincheng mountain and the first stream of Jialing River were well known. The territory is rich in mineral resources such as brine, oil and natural gas, and has broad prospects for hydropower development.
Geographical location of Gaoping District:
Gaoping District of Nanchong City is located in the northeast of Sichuan Basin, in the middle reaches of Jialing River, between 30 35 ′-3151′ north latitude and 0/05 27 ′-106 58 ′ east longitude. It is adjacent to Peng 'an County in the northeast, Yuechi County in the south and Shunqing and Jialing District across the river in the west.
The straight line distance from north to south is 39.5 kilometers, and the straight line distance from east to west is 35.4 kilometers. 1997 gaoping area is 84 1.9 km2, 806 km2 in 20 13 years and 8 13 km2 in 20 14 years.
