Since ancient times, people in China, who regard marriage as a top priority in their lives, have almost strict requirements for weddings. The traditional marriage etiquette in China is very complicated. Since the Zhou Dynasty, there have been six procedures: winning the lottery, asking the name, Najib, accepting the levy, inviting the party and marrying the bride.
Later generations called it "Six Rites", which evolved into invitations, blind date, engagement, dating, banquets, dowry, marriage and returning home. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, under the influence of western civilization, western-style weddings appeared in some metropolises and commercial ports.
After the founding of New China, "minimalism" prevailed in marriages all over the country. Young men and women usually buy a few jins of sugar, please lead the marriage, and the newlyweds bow. In the evening, two quilts were put on a bed together, and marriage was thus formed. Wedding supplies are also very simple, just buy a washbasin and a pair of thermos bottles, and there are one or two wooden cabinets with better conditions.
In the 1970s, some towns and villages began to accept bride price and send dowry. In rural areas, bride price includes wool coats, cloth, leather shoes and watches, while urban residents demand "three turns and one ring"-bicycles, sewing machines, watches and transistor radios, while northern areas pay attention to "32 legs" and "48 legs", that is, the total number of legs of furniture should be 32 or 48.
