Shantou Radio Station is one of the earlier established 12 municipal radio stations in Chinese mainland. It has a history of 40 years and has a far-reaching influence on the audience in Chaoshan area. Since the reform and opening up, Shantou radio station has developed rapidly, and now it has formed three series of radio stations, namely, the voice of news information (FM99.3 MHz, AM 1080 KHz), the car frequency of music broadcasting (FM 102.5 MHz) and the voice of comprehensive broadcasting traffic (FM 107.2 MHz), each with its own characteristics. The program is broadcast in Chaoshan dialect, Mandarin and English. The broadcast signal covers eastern Guangdong, western Fujian and southern Jiangxi, covering an area of 20,000 square kilometers and a population of about160,000.
