Funing is a county with a long history. It was called Huangpu in ancient times and Miaowan in Song Dynasty. In the ninth year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (173 1), Jianxian County was established. Historically, Funing has been known as "the beautiful land in the Yangtze River and Huaihe River, dense countryside, fertile land and gathering people's stoves".
