Stage sisters is a film produced and distributed by Shanghai Film Studio, directed by Xie Jin and starring Xie Fang, Li Wei and Cao. Published in 1965.
The film tells that before liberation, a child bride in a mountain village in eastern Zhejiang fled because of unbearable abuse, entered the Yue Opera Troupe, and became sisters with Xing, the daughter of a master of traditional Chinese opera. Spring flowers attack Dan, the moon is red, and it becomes the pillar of the troupe.
After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, under the influence of journalist jiang bo, Chunhua organized a sister class to perform "Blessing". Manager Tang instructed the hooligans to hurt Chunhua according to the will of the authorities, and later confessed "out of sisterhood" under the pressure of public opinion.
Chunhua exposed this political conspiracy in public. After liberation, Chunhua went to the countryside to perform with the propaganda team of land reform, and met Yue Hong who returned home alone. They had mixed feelings and started a new stage career again.
Movies organically link the small stage of drama with the big stage of society, singing on the stage and being a man under the stage. Stage sisters, a serious topic full of philosophical significance, vividly reproduces the tragic experience of the old society on the "big stage of life" and the cruelty of the old social system and dark forces to art and artists.
1983 won the jury award of the 12th figuera Dafforts International Film Festival.
