Kannonji is located in the northeast corner of Shuangcheng Castle, 40km south of Harbin. Formerly known as "Kannonji", it was built in the 26th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty with an area of 2,400 square meters. Rebuilt in the second year of the Republic of China, it is the Dojo of Zhong Ni. It was destroyed in the Cultural Revolution, leaving only three main halls; The temple was used as a factory workshop and a cowshed, which was dilapidated and seriously tilted. Everyone scrimped and saved, prepared to suffer hardships, raised 1.2 million yuan in nine years, and then broke ground, day and night, and built the magnificent Hall of Heroes in March; Subsequently, the mountain gate, Maitreya Hall, Sanmiao Temple, Dizang Hall, Yanshou Hall and the East-West Attached Hall were expanded. The newly-built temple has a solemn Buddha statue, complete instruments and a magic weapon, the Tripitaka, which has become a very valuable practice Dojo. The name of this temple was changed to "Kannonji".
After entering the temple, the courtyard is wide, and the central road runs through the north and south. In front of the Hall of the Great Heroes, Baoding is fragrant, pine and cypress are around the clouds, fragrant grass is on the floor, and pilgrims are constantly in the four seasons. There is a temple monument, engraved with four relics, which are precious. Now it is a key temple in Heilongjiang.
