Strengthening the maintenance and regular inspection of belt conveyor can prolong the service life of belt conveyor. When maintaining the belt conveyor, the following components should be mainly inspected:

A. Support point of belt conveyor: the easily damaged part of the belt at the support point. Belt speed, material granularity, impact force and bearing direction related to the operation of conveyor belt are all important factors to be paid attention to. The width of the chute receiving end of the blanking port should be large enough.

Loading materials at the included angle of the conveyor belt will only aggravate the wear of the belt surface. The impact of materials on the tape and eccentric feeding will make the tape climb to the other side along the rotating idler, which will lead to the edge damage of the tape and the adhesive wear on the local surface.

Materials with large specific gravity and sharp edges and corners will have certain impact or sliding on the fast-running adhesive tape, and will also scratch and wear the surface. The general method to reduce this kind of wear is to put the powdery material on the adhesive tape first, and then put the large material in it, so that the powdery material plays a buffering role, thus protecting the adhesive tape.

Screen strips with certain spacing are arranged at the blanking slot. Fine materials first fall on the adhesive tape through the gap of the screen bar to form a cushion layer, while large materials slowly fall on the cushion layer after slowing down through the screen bar, thus reducing the impact of materials on the adhesive tape.

B. Guide groove of belt conveyor: Guide groove is another cause of belt surface wear, and the closer to the belt, the more serious the wear. The guide chute should not contact with the adhesive tape, and there should be a certain gap between the bottom edge and the adhesive tape. The rubber baffle at the lower edge of the chute should be checked frequently to prevent the material from being stuck. The fixed part of the loading point device cannot touch the surface of the adhesive tape, and the material is not allowed to get stuck in the guide groove.

C all rollers of the belt conveyor should rotate flexibly. Improper selection of roller diameter will adversely affect the service life of belt. If there are many accessories on the drum, it will lead to the deviation of the conveyor belt, abnormal wear of the covering glue and local fatigue or even fracture of the belt core. Therefore, it is necessary to check it frequently and remove it in time. The purpose of rubber coating sheath of driving roller is to increase friction coefficient, reduce tension and reduce slippage caused by wet conditions. Grooving the rubber sleeve improves the cleaning function of the sleeve and belt, and prolongs the life of the roller. When the rubber sleeve outside the drum is abnormally worn, it should be replaced as soon as possible.
