How to mark a burned CD?
Category: Computer/Network >> Hardware

Problem description:

In order to distinguish and find things burned with similar empty disks at home, it is better to make a simple method and make a mark without damaging or affecting the use.

Analysis:

Burning optical discs (including CD-R and CD-RW) has become one of the mainstream storage carriers at present. Seeing that there are more and more CDs burned at hand, trouble follows, because it is not easy to tell what is burned on the CD! So be sure to make some marks on the surface of the CD, such as writing down the contents of the CD to avoid confusion and facilitate future retrieval. For individual users, the following methods are usually used to mark the CD.

First, the printer printing mode

That is to say, after the contents to be marked are arranged by special software, they are printed on the disk surface with an inkjet printer that supports the disk surface printing of optical disks, and the final effect is very beautiful.

Ordinary inkjet printers cannot print on the surface of optical disks. Ink-jet printers that can support disk printing include Canon's i850, i865, Epson's STYLUS PHOTO 900, etc. The price ranges from 1800 yuan to about 2200 yuan.

It is not difficult for people familiar with computer operation to typeset and operate printers on the computer. This method is more suitable for relatively wealthy family users and companies that make small batches of CDs (such as wedding CDs).

Second, the way to paste the self-adhesive label

That is, write the relevant contents to be marked on the self-adhesive label, and then stick it on the surface of the CD.

Self-adhesive labels are easy to buy and cheap. The production process does not need any skills, just write directly. However, the change of the center of gravity of the CD with self-adhesive label will lead to the high-speed rotation of the CD and affect the reading of data. Moreover, once the label is blown down by the high-speed airflow generated by the rotation of the optical drive, it will also affect the use of the optical drive.

Therefore, it is not suitable to stick self-adhesive labels on the disk surface.

Third, the writing style of oily pen

The content to be marked is written directly on the surface of the CD with an oily pen. The application practice shows that the oily ink used in the oil-based pen has no effect on the life of the components of the disk, and the written handwriting is well combined with the surface of the disk and will not be inadvertently erased after writing.

The price of each oil-based pen sold in the market ranges from 3 yuan 10 yuan, and you can usually write hundreds or thousands of CDs. Obviously it is the best choice for ordinary users. The main disadvantage is that it is not very beautiful. But at such a cheap price, I can only blame my own calligraphy level.

After reading the above introduction, you may wish to sit in the right place and choose the method that suits you according to your own economic situation and the size of the recording batch.

Note: In fact, it is best to use a special "CD pen" to mark the CD. The tip of the "CD pen" is very soft and will not scratch the surface of the CD. This ink is non-corrosive and will not penetrate into the data layer of the optical disc. Common "CD pens" include "3 17 and 3 18 series pens of STAEDTLER". These "CD pens" generally have the words "used for CD" on them, which are sold in larger shopping malls and stationery stores.
