Huainan Teachers College was founded in 1958, and was upgraded to an undergraduate school with the approval of the Ministry of Education in March 2000. The school is located in Huainan, an important national energy city. The school is located at the foot of Bagong Mountain and on the bank of Huaihe River. With beautiful scenery and rich cultural atmosphere, it is a garden-style school and garden-style unit named by Huainan Municipal Government.
In 2007, the school successfully passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education and achieved "good" results. In 2009, the school was identified as a provincial project construction unit for postgraduate training.
