The arch has a beautiful shape and a moderate proportion. The stone piers with drums on both sides of the column are beautifully made. The upper part is carved with Hu people leading lions and young lions climbing, and the middle part is carved with drum flowers wrapped around it, which is excellent in knife work and modeling. In particular, the front relief between the stigma and the column on both sides of the front and back is a fine work of art.
There are 4 layers of embossed forehead in the middle door and 3 layers of embossed forehead in the side door, all of which are rich in content.
On the front of the stone archway, the upper floor is carved with a picture of Ba Shen riding through a unicorn. There is a three-hole bridge in the middle, and the gods jump back and forth, with dust flying under their feet and extremely fast speed. Carve ten immortals in the middle and upper levels, step on auspicious clouds and respect each other like guests. There is an incense burner in the middle, and two guards will stand on the left and right. The man sitting on the table is Yuan Zun. The middle and lower levels are engraved with "God will fight for the map". People cross Tianma, ride longicorn, step on gourd, step on turtle's back and fight for killing, surrounded by auspicious clouds, and the scene is vast.
The story of the Three Kingdoms circulated among the lower sculptors. Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei sat in the middle, with knives and guns in their hands, while Sima Yi's entourage led the horses and lined up the trees in Xiangyun.
The side door of the stone archway is also carved with the theme of the story of the Three Kingdoms. On both sides of the upper level, Guan Yu rode across the border with a horizontal knife, on both sides of the middle level, Guan Yu returned to the city, and on both sides of the lower level, two dragons were carved to play with pearls.
The back of the stone archway is engraved with the military maps of ministers such as Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun and Zhuge Liang. There is a sculpture of "Guan Yu's words, Cao Cao's robe" in the middle and upper floors. Guan Yu rode a horse with a horizontal knife and a robe, and stood on the bridge to bid farewell to Cao Yu.
The story of Gu Chenghui is carved in the middle and lower classes. Guan Yu leaped his horse across the knife and engaged Cai Yang. Vivid image, practicing knife skills. The lower level is engraved with Liu, Guan and Zhang, who are chasing each other across horses, and the generals are galloping on the battlefield with guns.
The story of "Tuntu Mountain" is engraved on the upper right of the stone archway. Cao Jun lured Guan Yu into the war, and trapped him in Tuntu Mountain. Cao Cao sent Zhang Liao to surrender, and they sat face to face and talked. Zhang Liao is polite and respectful, and Guan Yu is awe-inspiring. His condition was not to hand Cao over to Han and to return to Shu to find his brother.
"Guan Yu's farewell picture" is engraved on the upper left. Guan Yu mounted his horse and looked back. As soon as he got off the horse, he bowed and said goodbye. The feeling of being inseparable is reflected in the carefully carved composition.
On the right hand side, Guan Yu carved a portrait of two generals across the horse, and the heads of the two generals were cut under the horse. The story is "Bai Mapo overthrew Yan Liang and Wen Chou".
Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei got off their horses and went to Wollongong, asking Zhuge Liang to assist the government. Sitting in the middle of the hut, Kongming warmly invited the three brothers to meet, with Sanma behind him. Liu Bei's thirst for knowledge is vividly displayed.
The left and right sides are carved with Kirin, lion, tiger and Tianma.
The front and rear columns of the stone archway, the carved dragons around the central column of the board, the courtiers standing and the accompanying birds are also excellent. This stone workshop in the Ming Dynasty combines the well-known story of the Three Kingdoms with the legend of the immortal brave general. Xiangyun birds and animals decorated with flowers are rare treasures in the treasure house of stone carving art in China.
