The fourteenth day of the first lunar month is the birthday of Mrs. Linshui (also known as Mrs. Shuntian). Legend has it that Linshui's maiden name is Chen, who was born in the Tang Dynasty and later became an immortal to save a dystocia woman. So a folk temple was established for offering sacrifices, which was called "goddess near water" and "Mrs. Shuntian". In fact, it was the patron saint that women created for themselves in the era when there was no status and science was underdeveloped, and it was also a way for them to motivate themselves because they were afraid of dystocia.

On the fourteenth night of the first lunar month, every household in Ninghai city and countryside will eat wheat flow for New Year's Eve. Wheat flow mixed with leaves, dry and fragrant.

Xinchang has the custom of drinking Mingmu soup on the fourteenth day of the first month. " "Whether the host is an acquaintance or a stranger, each person has a spoonful." "Hot soup" is made of oysters, shrimps, fish, clams and so on. The main ingredients are diced meat, taro, radish, eggs, sausages and shredded vegetables. Come and cook the food, then add water and stir it to thicken it. It is said that the more children eat, the smarter they will be. The more people ask for spicy food, the richer the master will be.
Try lanterns.
In order to prepare for the Lantern Festival on the fifteenth day of the first month, the people and the imperial court will set up light sheds, hang lanterns, arrange decorations and do some rehearsal activities for entertainment programs on this day, which becomes the "Lantern Festival" to welcome the annual Lantern Festival. As for the vendors selling lanterns in the market, they have already prepared all kinds of lanterns for sale and become a "lantern market".
