Pu Opera (also known as Zhou Pu Bangzi and Luantan Opera) is one of the national intangible cultural heritages in Linfen and Yuncheng.
Puju Opera is named after its rise in Gupu Prefecture in the south of Shanxi Province. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, it was called "Random Opera", "Shanxi Opera" and "Shanshan Bangzi Opera" in other provinces. After Jiaqing and Daoguang, it was also called "Shanxi Bangzi"; Shaanxi is called East Road Opera, and the northern and central parts of Shanxi are called "South Road Opera"; Local people in southern Shanxi used to call it "drama" or "random drama".
Pu Opera was formed in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty. It is the oldest of the "Four Great Bangzi in Shanxi" and is popular in counties in southwest Shanxi and parts of Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In May 2006, Pu Opera was listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage, with the project number Ⅳ-19.
The aria of Pu Opera:
The musical singing of Pu Opera belongs to banqiang, which is high-pitched, urgent and generous. The vocal part is mainly plate-shaped, and there are also flower cavity and miscellaneous cavity parts. Flower cavity, there are thirteen bays, flower cavity, two-tone cavity, three-inverted cavity and so on. These coloratura, except for the "Thirteen Bays" specially used for drama (such as the singing of colorful apples in Yue Ming Pearl), are all used together with adagio and double cavity, which are various plate-type extended phrases or additional phrases and cannot be independent cavities.
In addition to all kinds of banqiang, there are many miscellaneous operas, all of which are absorbed from other operas. Some only use suona accompaniment, and Kunqu opera is accompanied by flute.
The aria of Pu Opera is a mode, which adopts the method of combining true and false sounds, with high pitch and wide range. Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, "two-character tone" and "plum blossom tone" (equivalent to C tone) were usually used, but now G tone is used more. Because of its wide range, great melody jumping, high cavity and sharp board, ups and downs, large melody jumping range. Sometimes there is a jump of 14 degrees directly within one beat. Therefore, he is good at expressing intense and sad feelings and has the characteristics of being bold and unconstrained. When singing, you should use both big and small voices.
There is an adagio with one board and three eyes, a dual board and one eye, a compact board without eyes, a running water without eyes, a tight running water that plays slowly, and the middle board turns white and turns bottom. In an aria, the first half is in the local voice, the middle is in the polyphony, and the end is in the local voice. So it gives people a feeling of high-pitched agitation. The accompaniment band, martial arts field and literary field are mainly stringed instruments such as banhu, supplemented by flute, two stringed instruments, three strings and erhu. There are drums, dates, gongs and cymbals in the martial arts field.
