Where is the Pearl River in Nanjing?
The Pearl River, located in the north-central part of Nanjing, starts from Wumiao Gate of Xuanwu Lake in the north, reaches the pontoon bridge in the south, flows through beijing east road, Mingzhu Bridge, Wenchang Bridge and Wendeli Bridge, and finally flows into Neiqinhuai River, with a total length of about 1.7km. When it comes to the Pearl River, we have to mention the Chaoxi and the North Canal. Chaogou is an important man-made river channel dug by Sun Quan in Nanjing, which leads to Xuanwu Lake in the north and introduces the tide to Nanjing, hence the name. Chengbei Canal is an artificial river dug by Sun Hao, the ruler of Wu Zetian, which leads directly to Zhaoming Palace. The Pearl River is the general name for the tidal creek and the rest of the North Canal. The origin of the "name" of the Pearl River is recorded on a landscape wall in the southern section of the Pearl River. One day, Chen Houzhu was boating in the tidal ditch and had a good time. Suddenly it rained heavily, and the late owner was very angry and had a bad life. The waiters around me don't know what to do. One of the attendants pointed to countless crystal drops splashed on the water and said, "These are pearls!" " In order to hide himself, the late Lord casually replied, "This is really a river full of pearls!" Immediately ordered the tidal creek in the north of the city to be renamed the Pearl River, which has been passed down to this day.
