Pianyan Ancient Town Pianyan Ancient Town is 4. 16km away from Huaying Mountain in Chongqing.
Pianyan Ancient Town is located between the two remaining veins in the southwest of Huaying Mountain Range, and it is located in the hilly area, showing a trend of high in the northeast and low in the southwest. The average altitude is 520 meters and the highest is 942.9 meters. In Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Liu Jia in Jiangbei Guild Hall. In the twenty-four years of Qianlong, a town was built here. Because there are steep rock walls in the north of the town, it is named Pianyan Town.
Pianyan is an ancient industrial and commercial town on the ancient road from Chongqing to Huaying. In the past, merchants gathered and business flourished, and they were quite famous in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Hubei. Although hundreds of years have passed, its streets, buildings, folk customs and market conditions still retain its quaint and elegant features. The ancient town is built by mountains and water, and stands outside the town. From a distance, you can see that the brick houses of the wooden house are distributed along the mountain, overlapping and patchwork.
There is a small bridge at the entrance of the ancient town. There are long bluestones across the water on the bridge, and the streets are paved with bluestones. The length along Heishuitan River is about 400 meters. The shops on both sides of the street are smaller than those in the forest. Most shops are made of wood and bamboo, or the walls are long boards, or the walls are surrounded by bamboo fences. In some small buildings built on the street, the ground floor space is mostly set as shops. The upper-level residence is a diaojiao building, which is built by hanging columns, which not only saves the street pavement, but also achieves the design effect of "giving three feet of land, taking up one more day".
