Qiliqiao Village, located 3.5 kilometers from Zhijiang County, was originally the Li Qun Auditorium of the Kuomintang Air Force Command. 1945 In August, Japan declared its unconditional surrender, and the Kuomintang government held a surrender ceremony here from August 2/kloc-0 to August 23. Zhijiang Memorial Square is the only building in China to commemorate the victory of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, which was built in February 1946. The memorial square is north-south, with three arches in the west column, made of blue bricks, plastered with cement and embedded with Yuanzhou stone. The surface of the square is engraved with inscriptions and couplets by Kuomintang military and political dignitaries, Li Zongren, Yu Youren, He, Bai Chongxi, etc. There is a 206-word inscription on the back of the memorial square "Zhijiang surrender memorial square". There is an exhibition hall near Zhijiang Memorial Square to commemorate War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory. The exhibition is divided into three parts: Eight Years' Anti-Japanese War, China's Surrender and History Can't Be Forgotten. It reflects the struggle of China people against Japanese aggression with a lot of words, photos and objects. Zhijiang Airport, not far from here, covers an area of more than 4,800 mu. It was the second largest military airport in the Allied Far East in the summer of World War II. The Flying Tiger General Chennault's Sino-US Mixed Brigade and the US 14 Air Force used to be based here. The eastern part of the China-US Air Force Wing and the airport control tower near the airport are still well preserved.
