On May 25th, 2006, China Ornamental Stone Association officially released the first China Ornamental Stone-Mineral Crystal International Forum and Exhibition. This large-scale international competition sponsored by China Ornamental Stone Association will be held in Beijing on 10/0/0 on October 9. The forum is hosted by Swiss AAA International Mining Company, and experts in the mineral field at home and abroad will make keynote speeches around seven themes. At the forum, participants will also be introduced to the main mineral producing areas at home and abroad, mineral exploration and collection and other related information. On June 1 day, 2006, the "Old Veteran Ornamental Stone Exhibition and Small Ornamental Stone Exhibition of the Ministry of Land and Resources" jointly organized by China Ornamental Stone Association and the Bureau of Retired Cadres of the Ministry of Land and Resources for the first time was held in the activity center of the Ministry of Land and Resources. In order to strengthen communication with local ornamental stone associations and stone friends, and timely and accurately reflect the trends of ornamental stone circles all over the country, China Ornamental Stone Association will set up a team of correspondents as one of its priorities this year. The first batch of 22 correspondents was confirmed at the end of May 2006 after being recommended by local associations and registered by individuals. From June 17 to June 18, Zhengzhou Air Defense Command College and China Ornamental Stone Association held the first correspondent meeting. The meeting clarified the responsibilities and tasks of correspondents, as well as the requirements and measures for doing a good job of correspondents.

Shandong Ornamental Stone Association was established in June 2006 in Jinan, Shandong Province. This is a newly established provincial ornamental stone association after the establishment of China Ornamental Stone Association, and the competent business unit is the Shandong Provincial Department of Land and Resources. Sponsored by Lanzhou Culture Publishing Bureau and Gansu Yellow River Stone Association, the 2006 Lanzhou National Strange Stone Exhibition was held in Lanzhou from June 30 to July 9, 2006. China Ornamental Stone Association will conduct the second preliminary examination on the appraisal standard of ornamental stones at this exhibition, and organize a special discussion on the appraisal of decorative stones.
