On April 14, 2006, Changshou Jiahua of China Ornamental Stone Association met with Mr. Kim, honorary vice president of the Association and president of Korean Shoushi Association, at Shanshui Hotel of the Ministry of Land and Resources. From April 30th to May 7th, 2006, the "2006 China Chencun International Bonsai Appreciation Expo and the First China Bonsai Collection Exhibition" jointly sponsored by BCI, Shunde District People's Government and China Landscape Architecture Society was held in Chencun Flower World, Guangdong Province. The Expo attracted hundreds of bonsai stone lovers, collectors and nearly 10,000 domestic enthusiasts from more than 30 countries and regions. As a special supporting unit, China Ornamental Stone Association, President Shou Jiahua attended the grand event and signed the Declaration on Promoting and Promoting the Cultural Exchange and Development of International Bonsai Ornamental Stone (referred to as Chencun Declaration) on behalf of the association.

On the afternoon of May 3, 2006, the 4-day "Second Shanghai Duolun International Exhibition of Famous Tibetan Stone Artists" opened at Zhu Qizhan Art Museum in Hongkou District, Shanghai. This stone exhibition gathered 147 ornamental stones from all over the country, and invited many international ornamental stone lovers such as alan walker, President of the International Bonsai Association, Ms. Chiana, President of the Italian Shi Shui Association, and stone friends from more than ten countries to participate spontaneously.

On May 10, 2006, "The Press Conference of the Second Suzhou Lingbishi Culture Festival in China" was held in the Great Hall of the People. The meeting was attended by Anhui Provincial People's Government, China Geological Survey, China Ornamental Stone Association, Suzhou Municipal People's Government, Anhui Provincial Department of Land and Resources, Anhui Ornamental Stone Association, Suzhou Ornamental Stone Society, news organizations and stone friends from all walks of life. China Ornamental Stone Association held a symposium on the compilation of popular science series of Ornamental Stone in China from May 16 to May 17, 2006, and initially determined the topics of the series: Introduction to Ornamental Stone in China, Collection and Protection of Ornamental Stone, Appreciation of Ornamental Stone, Ornamental Stone and Humanities, Ornamental Stone and Religion, etc.
On May 25th, 2006, China Ornamental Stone Association officially released the first China Ornamental Stone-Mineral Crystal International Forum and Exhibition. This large-scale international competition sponsored by China Ornamental Stone Association will be held in Beijing on 10/0/0 on October 9. The forum is hosted by Swiss AAA International Mining Company, and experts in the mineral field at home and abroad will make keynote speeches around seven themes. At the forum, participants will also be introduced to the main mineral producing areas at home and abroad, mineral exploration and collection and other related information. This exhibition is co-organized by geological society of china and other 10 domestic and foreign enterprises. At present, the preparatory work is progressing smoothly.

On June 1 day, 2006, the "Old Veteran Ornamental Stone Exhibition and Small Ornamental Stone Exhibition of the Ministry of Land and Resources" jointly organized by China Ornamental Stone Association and the Bureau of Retired Cadres of the Ministry of Land and Resources for the first time was held in the activity center of the Ministry of Land and Resources. Shou Jiahua, President of China Ornamental Stone Association, and Wu Guohua, Director of Retired Cadres Bureau, delivered speeches respectively. This lecture invited Zengfu Wu and Shen Kuan, science and technology consultants of China Ornamental Stone Association, to give lectures. After the lecture, the veteran cadres visited the small ornamental stone exhibition with great interest.

In order to strengthen communication with local ornamental stone associations and stone friends, and timely and accurately reflect the trends of ornamental stone circles all over the country, China Ornamental Stone Association will set up a team of correspondents as one of its priorities this year. The first batch of 22 correspondents was confirmed at the end of May 2006 after being recommended by local associations and registered by individuals. From June 17 to June 18, Zhengzhou Air Defense Command College and China Ornamental Stone Association held the first correspondent meeting. The meeting clarified the responsibilities and tasks of correspondents, as well as the requirements and measures for doing a good job of correspondents.

Shandong Ornamental Stone Association was established in June 2006 in Jinan, Shandong Province. This is a newly established provincial ornamental stone association after the establishment of China Ornamental Stone Association, and the competent business unit is the Shandong Provincial Department of Land and Resources. Shou Jiahua, president of China Ornamental Stone Association, attended the inaugural meeting and delivered a warm speech.
Sponsored by Lanzhou Culture Publishing Bureau and Gansu Yellow River Stone Association, the 2006 Lanzhou National Strange Stone Exhibition was held in Lanzhou from June 30 to July 9, 2006. China Ornamental Stone Association will conduct the second preliminary examination on the appraisal standard of ornamental stones at this exhibition, and organize a special discussion on the appraisal of decorative stones.
