What cotton is the best for pillow core?
On the internet, I often see some shopkeepers selling pillow cores saying how good the filler is and how abundant the materials are, so how should they choose?

First of all, the heavier the filler, the better, because we want to use elastic products, not holding or leaning against stones.

The heavier the same filler, the worse the quality.

The following is a comparison of various fillers (the comparison of using time is based on the same texture):

1. PP cotton, the most common filler on the market, is amorphous, some are slippery to the touch, and some are astringent to the touch, because the amount of silicone oil added is different. The choice depends on the whiteness of cotton, white is relatively better, and gray materials are generally recycled. In addition, it is best not to cake easily. You can try to tear it by hand, it is easy to tear (that is, it has good bulkiness). When you make your own pillow core, when you fill it with cotton, you should tear it up before filling it. Don't use anything that smells bad, and don't use anything with other powder layers. But this kind of cotton, after a long time, is not easy to pat loose and easy to agglomerate.

2. Pearl cotton is also a filler that can be seen in the market, which is the form of pearl particles. Because it is a single small particle, it is not easy to agglomerate and has good elasticity. It can be confirmed from the color and bulkiness. As with the above identification method, the particles should be as uniform as possible. This kind of cotton has a high cost performance. Time can be used longer than PP cotton. When you are flat, you will get fat when you clap.

3. Microfiber (2.5D cotton or 3D cotton) looks like PP cotton, but it feels soft, not easy to agglomerate and has poor elasticity. Pillows of the same size are about 50% more than the above two kinds of cotton. The price is also high, and it is unlikely to be bought in the general market. When some guests have to do this, we will add PP cotton according to a certain proportion to improve its bulkiness and weight. So if a shopkeeper says he can provide it to you, be especially careful and don't be fooled.

The cotton used in China was also filled with cotton. Because cotton does not have good elasticity, it is generally not used as a pillow filler now.

5. Silk fragments. I have seen this filler once, and it was given by an American guest. The product is quite high-grade, but the product filled with this filler has no elasticity. Its purpose is to keep the shape of the product well. If you want to make this product (mainly modeling), then you can choose this filler. Of course, if you have a certain purchase channel, you might as well use cotton instead.

6. Filler foam particles used in random seats can also be used as the core of pillows. If it weren't for the limited channels and high price, I think this material is good, because it won't be squashed, but a pillow can't be full. If you don't lean, you will stand up straight and look bad.

7. Qiao Mai shells and tea leaves, which are also widely used in pillows, are relatively heavy, and after a long time, there will be dust-like things overflowing (small particles). Generally, these materials are wrapped in non-woven fabrics and then covered with pillowcases. It is completely inelastic and not suitable for making pillows. Personally, I think it is not hygienic enough.
