How old is the lion cat?
About seven months old.

Lion cat, also known as Linqing Lion Cat, is mainly produced in Linqing City, Shandong Province. It is a variation of a blue-eyed Persian cat and a yellow-eyed Luxi local civet. Among many species, the snow lion with blue eyes, yellow eyes and white hair mopping the floor is the most precious. People call it "the mandarin duck-eyed lion cat".

The formation of lionfish cats in Linqing is closely related to the spread of Islam and the opening of the canal. In the Ming Dynasty, with the communication between the Ming Dynasty and Persia, Persian cats also settled here. In addition, Persian cats like to eat sheep liver and kidney, and multiply rapidly in Hui people's homes.

Species history

The formation of lionfish cats in Linqing is closely related to the spread of Islam and the opening of the canal. It is a descendant of Persian cat (so-called traditional angola cat) and Luxi civet cat.

As early as the second year of Tang Yonghui (AD 65 1 year), the Arab Kingdom sent its first envoy to China to meet the emperor of the Tang Dynasty. This is a sign that Islam was officially introduced into our country. Persians brought their beloved Persian cat when they came to China.

In the Ming Dynasty, Linqing built the Grand Mosque and the Muslim Women's Temple, which became the settlement of Hui people on the canal and an important town for commercial and cultural exchanges with Persians. Along with this exchange, Persian cats also settled here. Persian cats like to eat sheep liver and kidney, so they proliferate rapidly in Hui people's homes.

Because of its preciousness, it was often paid tribute to the palace in the old society. According to historical records, Emperor Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty pampered a lionfish cat in Yongshou Palace in Xiyuan, and later died, regretting it. He made a golden coffin at the foot of Wanshou Mountain, making it worthy of all the old people and recommending it to be super-living. Wei Yuan, a bachelor lecturer, used the phrase "turning a lion into a dragon" in his eulogy, inviting him to spoil the emperor, being promoted as a young butcher and loyal to the scholar, which added a taste to the cabinet.
