In fact, it is an old street that maintains the architectural style of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The old street is about 1200m long, paved with bluestone slabs, with a pavement of 16 1 and a construction area of about 12000 m2.
It is understood that the street is about 5.9 meters wide, showing an east-west trend, high in the east and low in the west, and slightly curved. Therefore, the villagers divided it into two streets, namely the east entrance and the west exit.
"This street was formed during the period of Song Zhenzong." There are three striking buildings in Shihechang Village. One is located at the entrance of Xichang, called Zhangye Temple. According to reports, Zhangye Temple was built in Qianlong for 60 years, and there is a statue of Zhang Fei in the temple. There is a stone arch bridge built in Xianfeng period behind Zhangye Temple, which can still drive large trucks.
The other is located in Dongchangtou, an ancient street called Wenchang Palace, which was built in the 58th year of Kangxi and covers an area of about1.200m2.. In Wenchang Palace, there are statues of Emperor Wenchang and Confucius, as well as statues of "Chen San".
The old man Xie Jinding said that Chen Yao Cuo, the champion of the Northern Song Dynasty in the "Three Chens", was born in Chen Jiawan, Fenghuang Mountain, shihe town. According to Chen's Genealogy and related historical records, Chen Yaomao is old and has foot disease, so he is allowed to retire and return to his hometown. Chen Yaomao was buried near Shihechang, nanbu county after his death.
There is also a place located in other places, called Chenghuang Temple. Compared with Wenchang Palace and Zhangye Temple, Chenghuang Temple is like a small well.
Shihechang Village also has the well-preserved Liuchenhang Commercial Building, which was once the commercial center of Shichang Town.
Over the years, Xie Jinding and the old people in the village have been busy protecting the ancient street. They transformed the original health center in the town into an ancient cultural relic showroom and preserved more than 640 cultural relics.
The woodcuts in Shihechang Village are also famous. According to reports, the stone river woodcut began in the Qing Qianlong period. Today, Liu Junhai is the best woodcut craftsman. He has been engaged in wood carving for more than 30 years, and birds and animals, Meizhulanju, mountains and rivers can all be integrated into wood carving.
"Over the years, despite external influences, some traditions in the village have not changed." Liu Yongpei, director of Shihechang Village Committee, said that on holidays, the elderly dragon lantern team and women dragon lantern team in the village will celebrate with dragon dances, as well as weddings, opening shops, and performances of traditional programs such as car lights, Jin Qiangun and colorful yangko.
