Dingyuan County, belonging to Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, is located in the east of Anhui Province, between Jianghuai, the hinterland of eastern Anhui and the west of Yangtze River Delta, with an area of 300 1 square kilometer. By 2022, Dingyuan County will have jurisdiction over 22 townships, 1 economic development zone and 258 villages (communities). By the end of 2020, the permanent population of Dingyuan County was 6710.3 million.
Dingyuan County is generally high in the north and low in the south. There are three types of landforms in the territory: hills, undulating plains and plains. Dingyuan had the reputation of "connecting eight cities and nine provinces" in ancient times, and it is still the hub of China's north and south. Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway and Huainan railway run through the territory, while Beijing, Taiwan and expressway pass through the territory.
