Chinese opera is a rare kind of drama in China, which originated in Tang and Song Dynasties. In the 31st year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1905), Zhang, an artist from Shuanggou, Xiangyang County, Hubei Province, gave a lecture in zhang wan Village, Huyang, from which Han Opera was introduced to Tanghe, and many folk artists spontaneously established folk Han Opera literary groups. 1985, tanghe county Han Opera Troupe was established, and the whole class of Beizhangwan Village Han Opera Troupe in suburban township was merged into the county Han Opera Troupe. The troupe has grown to more than 70 people, and rehearsed more than a dozen plays, such as Shiro Visiting Mother, Jiebeiguan and Gaotangzhou, which were performed in Nanyang City and neighboring counties and cities such as Fangcheng, Sheqi, Zaoyang and Tongbai. Besides Han Opera, there are Quju Opera, Henan Opera, Yuediao Opera, Juanju Opera and Wanbang Opera.
After the founding of New China, cultural institutions have been established in counties and townships, cultural courtyards and new rural bookstores have been established in most villages, and mass cultural activities focusing on national fitness have been generally carried out.
