Jinglian temple
Jinglian Temple (formerly known as Kaiyuan Temple and Huangyuting) is located in Dongshan Mid-mountain in the eastern suburb of Qianxi County, covering an area of 2,500 square meters. It is the mythical "Ten Square Hundred Zen Rooms", one of the eight scenic spots in western Guizhou, and a famous scenic spot.
Dongshan, the connecting part of Lion Mountain, is surrounded by mountains. Since ancient times, there has been a saying that "nine lions form a lotus city". Jinglian Temple was built in the lion's mouth, just like a bright pearl in the lion's mouth. It is magnificent, with peaks standing side by side, surrounded by running water and clear water as blue. There are towering old trees around the temple, and silver and cypress still exist. Up to now, there is still a ginkgo tree 300 years ago in front of the temple, which is still lush and leafy. Standing in front of the temple overlooking the city, there are rows of tall buildings, pedestrians and vehicles shuttling on the wide concrete road, and the buildings, platforms, pavilions and pavilions of Shuixi Park on the east side are hidden in the green forest. Enjoy the natural scenery and rural scenery in the suburbs, and the breeze is refreshing.
According to historical records, the predecessor of Jinglian Temple was Kaiyuan Temple. In the fifth year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, the founder monk Qin Tie built a temple here, which has been in operation for 338 years. In his later years, he passed it on to his disciple Yin Gui, the wise and brave monk. After the silence of the Iron Tongue Monk Garden, it was buried in Zuoshan Mountain, and the inscription still exists. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the Jade Emperor Pavilion was built on the temple site, so people called it the Jade Emperor Pavilion of Kaiyuan Temple. Kaiyuan Temple has experienced a long history since the Republic of China, and the temple pavilion has been completely destroyed. It was not until after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China that the county party committee and the county government conscientiously implemented the party's religious policy that the temple was restored. During the period of 1993, Huifu Temple, a monk from Qianling Mountain, visited the west of Guizhou, and named the restored temple "Jinglian Temple".
The couplet of the main project of Jinglian Temple —— Daxiong Hall and the main entrance is both rigid and flexible, which reads: "Hou Jiabin of Bai Cui visited the Daxiong Hall in Dongshan, and Ginkgo greeted the guests and the Buddha's face". There are 28 statues of Buddha, Manjusri, Pu Xian, Three Saints of the West and Eighteen Arhats in the temple. There are statues of Jigong monk, Jade Buddha and Wei Tuo in front of the temple. These statues have different expressions, and their images are natural and realistic. There is a three-bedroom bungalow below the east side of the hall.
