In many criminal cases, brides, grooms and bridesmaids are insulted, harassed and even hurt at weddings under the guise of custom.

The Criminal Law Amendment (IX) stipulates that whoever forcibly molests others or insults women by violence, coercion or other means shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years or criminal detention; Whoever affrays in a public place or commits the crime mentioned in the preceding paragraph, or has other vile circumstances, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than five years.

Crime of insulting women:

Whoever commits the crime of insulting women shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years or criminal detention, and whoever gathers people in public places or forcibly molests or insults women shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than five years. "Gathering people" generally refers to gathering more than three people, "public places" and "in public places". Please refer to the explanation of Item 3, Paragraph 3 of Article 236 of this Law.
