The open-pit mine started in August 1958, which was the largest open-pit mine in southern China at that time. With the pollution caused by mining and the landslide caused by huge mines, in 20 1 1 year, the government decided to close the open-pit mine and start building the ecological park in 20 12. The park covers an area of 10.07 square kilometer, with four major projects, namely water diversion, road construction, tree planting and museum building.
