Wuhan Metro Line 2, located in Hubei Province? Wuhan, which starts from Tianhe Airport in the north and ends at Guanggu Square in the south, is the first underground subway line in Wuhan and the second subway line in Wuhan after 1 line.

Line 2 consists of three parts: the first phase, the second phase (the northern extension line is also called the airport line) and the third phase (the southern extension line). The first phase of the project connects Hankou and Wuchang, passing through five urban areas of Wuhan, namely Dongxihu District, Jianghan District, Wuchang District, Hongshan District and Donghu High-tech Development Zone, with a total length of 27.7 kilometers and a daily passenger flow of 500,000 people. Line 2 undertakes 50% of the river-crossing traffic, which is of great significance to solve the river-crossing traffic problem in Wuhan and relieve the traffic pressure of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge and Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge.

On May 27th, 20 16, the airport line was successfully put into trial operation and connected with Line 2 to the airport directly. The total length of the airport line is19.8km. There are 7 stations in the whole line, including 5 underground stations and 2 elevated stations, which connect Jinyintan Station with Tianhe Airport and seamlessly connect with the newly-built T3 terminal. It was opened on February 28th, 20 16 16, and citizens can get on the plane as soon as they get out of the subway.

The south extension project of Wuhan Rail Transit Line 2 runs from Guanggu Square Station, the first phase of Line 2 in the north, through Guanggu Pedestrian Street, Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Guanshan Industrial Park, Guanggu Railway Station and Liu Fang Industrial Park, and to Gaoxin Sixth Road in Foziling in the south. The total length of the line is 13.35km, all underground, with 10 station and 65433 Foziling parking lot. The south extension line of Line 2 adopts the operation scheme of the first phase project of Line 2, with the same main technical standards. The control center uses Qiaokou Road Control Center to build the main substation of Guanggu Square, and the electromechanical systems such as vehicles, communication and signals are consistent with Line 2. ?

The south extension project of Line 2 simultaneously builds the supporting project of Optics Valley Plaza Complex, and excavates four underground floors, of which the south extension line is located in the third underground floor. The project includes: the underground section of Nanyan Line, the stations and some sections of Rail Transit Line 9 and 1 1, the municipal tunnels under Luo Yu Road and Lumo Road, and the underground public space of Guanggu Square. Optical Valley Plaza Complex is an important control node project of South Extension Line.
