Yangge is one of the national intangible cultural heritages. Millet Yangko is one of the three major Yangko in Shandong Province, which is distributed in the Shanghe area of Lubei Plain in Shandong Province today. Drum yangko originated in the Northern Song Dynasty, became in the Ming Dynasty and flourished in the Qing Dynasty. The existing drum yangko is mainly divided into two parts: "walking" and "running" "Walking" is the dance before the dance team moves or enters the field; Running field is the main body of performance, which is divided into "literary field" and "martial field" according to different roles.
There are more than 100 kinds of venues for the performance of drums and yangko, including "Niu Nose Clip", "Gouxinmei", "One Street and Two Gates", "Six Six Dashun", "Four Waiba", "Eight Streets" and "Four Doors Fight". The "umbrella head" moves roundly, the "drum" moves roughly and boldly, the "hammer" moves lightly and smartly, and the "wax flower" moves boldly and generously, while the jerking, paddling, squatting and jumping are all possessed by each character.
Form of performance
Drum yangko is inextricably linked with folk sacrifices in Shanghe. Sacrificial activities usually include offering sacrifices to ancestors in the village, offering sacrifices to gods in Lu Yu Temple and performing temple worship in other villages. Sacrifices include opening gongs, lighting street lamps, scattering millet, burning paper money, serving tables, gongs and drums teams and yangko teams. In the sound of gongs and drums, we marched to the temple or ancestral temple, with pine nuts lit, millet scattered, incense burned and kowtowed all the way, and then the Yangko team performed at the destination.
Shanghe Drum Yangko, an ancient performance form, combines singing, dancing and ugliness. When performing, dance first and then sing. Singers don't dance and dancers don't sing. Clowns can't get a word in the song and dance. Singing tracks include "Shake the Gourd", "Interrupt", "Yuanyang Marries an Old Carver", "Hungry Wife Eat Dogs", "Grand View Lantern" and "Little View Lantern", which are mainly based on folk stories, historical legends and daily life.
