Wuchuan Piaose began in the Qing Dynasty, with children dressed as various figures, or standing or sitting on "colorful boards", singing and dancing in the parade, fluttering like a fairy, thrilling and wonderful, and being known as "hidden art" and "Oriental Piaoyou art"

Wuchuan Piaose 1992 and 1997 participated in CCTV Spring Festival Gala twice. In 2003, Wu Chuan's sculpted works with floating colors participated in the first China Cultural Relics Imitation Folk Craft Exhibition and won the gold medal. Wuchuan Piaose is the first of the "three wonders", which has long been well-known at home and abroad, and is known as "hidden art" and "Oriental Piaose art". In 2005, Wuchuan Piaose became the first representative of national intangible cultural heritage. In June, 2006, at the invitation of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong, Wu Chuanpiaose participated in the parade held in Hong Kong on July 1 to celebrate the return of Hong Kong and the ninth anniversary of the establishment of the SAR Government, which was well received by people from all walks of life, and major newspapers and TV stations in Hong Kong made special reports. On the Lantern Festival in 2006, Wuchuan held the first national "Dinglong Cup" floating color show, and Wuchuan won three sets of floating colors, including gold medal, four sets of silver prize and 1 set of bronze prize. In 2007, Wuchuan Piaose was included in the "second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list".

According to Chen Shouquan, a folk artist from Huang Po Town, during the late Qing Dynasty, eight villages in Huang Po, Wuchuan, often held god-wandering competitions, and there were costumes and parades to show drama clips, commonly known as "land colors", which attracted attention. In order to win the support of other villages, Lin Wenjie and his old artist father Lin Qing creatively held a costume parade. On a wooden box, they designed "Who was born", and Xiao Na was flying in the wind on the lotus, so it was called "Gone with the Wind". After this set of floating colors was exhibited, it traveled all over Huang Po, causing a sensation throughout the county. It is the origin of Wuchuan's floating color.

Since then, floating flowers have spread all over Wuchuan. Wuchuan folk art is known as the hometown of folk art, and it is famous for its long history, rich content and exquisite skills. The floating color of Wuchuan is a wonderful flower of southern folk art. The so-called floating color is that several people push a color board, and the color board is decorated with figures with fixed postures. Floating color characters are generally designed and dressed according to the artistic modeling of drama characters, and their contents include historical stories, myths and legends or modern themes. Gone with the Wind art performance is an authentic mobile stage art form, which uses mechanical principles to support makeup actors to March and perform with the car. The image is vivid and wonderful, and the specific form is combined with lion and dragon dancing, with eight-tone gongs and drums, which is rich and colorful.
