Shijiao County was founded in 19 13. Named after the initials of Shitongguan and Kuaipuguan. In the east of the county seat, Jishan 1959 was changed to Shizhu County. 1983 changed to autonomous county.

1 March 9991day, the resident of Fenghuang Township People's Government was moved from Mopan Village to Gaogangyuan Village, and Gaogangyuan Village in Daxie Township (with an area of 3.77 square kilometers and a population of 955) was placed under the jurisdiction of Fenghuang Township. After the adjustment of township administrative divisions, Fenghuang Township covers an area of 49.57 square kilometers with a population of 68 17, and governs 10 village committees. On July 2, 20001year, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government (Yufu [200 1]127) approved Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County to adjust 58 townships to 32 townships, of which 47 townships were abolished and1townships were reserved. Daxie, Sanhe, Samsung and Wanchao are not mature for the time being, and still maintain the township system. On July 3, 20021day, Muping Township was renamed Longtan Township (Yufu [2002] 123). In 2002, Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County administered 12 towns and 20 townships, 1 1 neighborhood committees and 496 village committees. On September 28th, 2004, the resident of Lengshui Township Government moved from Lengshuixi to Caiziba (Yufu [2004] No.243).
