Han Ban Jieyu's "Elegy" poem says: "The newly cracked flower is as bright as frost and snow. Cut into acacia fans, round like the bright moon. In and out of your arms, shaking the breeze. I am often afraid that autumn will come and the cool wind will take the heat away. Abandon donations, and be kind. " Later generations may regard this poem as a folk song of Han Yuefu.

Explanatory usage

Ban Jieyu, daughter of Ban Kuang in Han Dynasty, whose name is unknown. Han proclaimed himself emperor, was elected to the harem, and was appointed as Jieyu. After falling out of favor, Ban Jieyu supported the Empress Dowager in Changxin Palace, and wrote a poem about self-injury and complaining. In the poem, Wan Fan compares herself and expresses her sadness of being abandoned. Later, this canon was often used to describe falling out of favor, suffering cold reception, and also to express sad feelings.
