Wenyoutai is located in the northeast of Gaoyou City, on the Dongshan Mountain behind Taishan Temple (also known as Dongyue Temple). According to local records, it was built in the Northern Song Dynasty and rebuilt many times, mostly in the 19th year of Jiaqing (18 14). When Su Shi passed Gaoyou in the Song Dynasty, he shared a piece of paper with scholars such as Sun Jue, Wang Gong and Qin Guan. Later, his poems and stones were embedded in the wall. This platform is built on the top of the mountain, and there are three platforms and stone steps on the south slope of the mountain. At the top is a two-story hall, with five rooms facing each other, four rooms deep and double eaves and tile roofs. There is a hall, five rooms wide and five rooms deep, with a single eaves tile roof. The front of the upper two platforms is a flower bed, and the lower two platforms are green platforms. Founded in 976, during the period of Taiping and Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty, it is a high-rise building built on the top of Dongshan Mountain, with a panoramic view of the natural landscape. There are famous calligraphy on the four walls of Wenyoutai, which is of high artistic value. On the west is Sixian Ancestral Temple built in Ming Dynasty, and the museums on the east and west sides provide a window for understanding Gaoyou's history and culture. Existing stone carvings include Su Wu's Birthday Map, Su Shi's Portrait, poems and calligraphy by Qin Guan, Qin, Huang Tingjian, Mi Fei and Ruan Yuan, and inscriptions by Chen Shen, Gong Xiao, Chen Youzong and Song Jiang. Most of them were hand-carved by later generations according to the original works. This platform is not only compact in layout, but also beautiful in architectural modeling. Corresponding to Zhenguo Temple Tower in the west, Teahouse Temple Tower and Jingtu Temple Tower in the east, it forms a set of quaint and beautiful triangular three-dimensional outlines.
