This case is carved glass with a strong concave-convex carved texture on the surface. In this case, we can use the modeling method to make it, that is, create a concave-convex texture pattern around the model. However, the method of making the model is particularly complicated, so we use materials and maps to make it, which is faster and better.
Open the scene file. A cup model has been created in the scene.
Click to open the material editor, select a material ball, name it carved glass, and set the material as VRay material. If you can't find this VRay material, you can click Rendering Settings to see if the renderer is a VRay renderer. How to set it as a VRay renderer instead of a VRay renderer? Click Renderer Settings to set it as a VRAY renderer. So that this type of VRay material can be used.
After setting, we set the color of diffuse reflection to gray and the color of reflection to dark gray. The color of reflection is used to control the intensity of reflection. The closer the color is to black, the weaker the reflection of the material. The closer the reflection color is to white, the stronger the reflection of the material. If the reflected color is white, it is specular reflection when rendering. When it is completely black, it means that the material has no reflection. Because it is glass, we set it to dark gray. It has a reflection, but it is not particularly strong.
This material should have the strongest refractive properties, so we set the refractive color to white and check the shadows.
Next, we need to set the texture of the pattern. The texture should have a concave-convex effect. Expand the concave-convex rollout and add a pattern map in the channel behind the concave-convex, so that when rendering the material, a black-and-white texture with concave-convex texture will be produced.
Double-click the shader, and we can see that there is a bump effect on the shader.
