Lianjiang cultural undertakings
Lianjiang has outstanding people and a long history of culture. From Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, 89 people published 276 works. Among them, Poems in the Tang Dynasty, Intimate History in the Song Dynasty, Yunxi Collection by Li Mi Xun, Textual Research on Mao Poetry by Qian Di in the Ming Dynasty, and Xiangsi Collection by Dong Yingju all had certain influences in history. Folk stories, ballads, proverbs, drama, folk art, music, dance, calligraphy and painting, sculpture, paper-cutting and other mass literature and art are rich and colorful. Eight years after the Republic of China, influenced by the May 4th New Culture Movement, popular literature developed rapidly. During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the mass cultural activities of resisting Japan and saving the nation were quite active, and cultural groups such as poetry clubs and academic research societies appeared, and modern dramas and films were introduced into Lianjiang one after another. However, due to the fall of the county town twice, all kinds of cultural facilities were seriously damaged, and cultural workers lost the environment and mood of leisurely creation, and the long-form creation was silent. Only five people's 13 works were found and published. In 38 years of the Republic of China, there were only 1 public education halls, simple libraries and bookstores in the county. After the founding of New China, urban and rural cultural facilities have been continuously improved, and county cultural centers, libraries and museums are complete, which has entered the advanced ranks in the whole province or the whole country. There are 2 township cultural stations 1 each, 90 village societies1each, newly-built theaters, cultural palaces1each, 5 professional and professional troupes and song and dance troupes, and 79 film projection units, with an annual projection volume of 1.26 million person-times. Cable TV networks have been established in 20 townships and connected with provincial TV stations. The TV penetration rate has reached 80% and the broadcast coverage rate has reached 100%. Mass culture is booming, with more than 70 amateur art teams active in urban and rural areas, and cultural exchanges with Taiwan Province Province, Mazu compatriots and overseas Chinese are increasingly extensive. Cultural creation flourished, with 46 people publishing works 154, more than any period in history. Culture and education are prosperous, and talents come forth in large numbers. More than 700 Lianjiang senior professionals and cadres above the deputy division level are known. Famous scholars include Lin Qun, an academician of China Academy of Sciences, Fang Sheng, a professor at Renmin University of China, and Ye Hui, a professor at Sun Yat-sen University. There are Chen Zheren, a distinguished American space researcher, Miao Bailing, a researcher at the Meteorological Center, a famous professor in Taiwan Province, and famous philanthropists Huang Rulun and Lin. They have made unremitting efforts for the prosperity of their motherland and hometown.
