Many flower-and-bird paintings in China have the meanings of auspiciousness, peace and longevity. It can be said that some are for themselves, and some are praise and respect for the recipients.

First, draw plum blossoms with a vase:

Flower-and-bird paintings of plum blossoms and vases usually mean "peace through the years". The combination of plum blossom and vase is often in the theme of "Photo courtesy of the Qing Dynasty in the New Year". Plum blossom symbolizes the New Year and vase represents peace. For example, Wu Changshuo 19 15 "Axis of the Qing Dynasty" (below).

Second, the wine (hip flask, glass)

Jars, flagons, wine glasses and other wine utensils are also common in flower-and-bird paintings. Routine has two purposes: one is to "celebrate birthday" and the other is to congratulate the New Year. "Wine" is an important element of various celebrations. Wine utensils are used to represent wine and accept pictures such as New Year's Eve and birthdays to celebrate. For example, Qi Baishi's 1953 new happy picture (below).
