The spirit of Saihanba is rooted in Saihanba10.4 million mu of land, and stems from the dedication and struggle of hundreds of forest farmers in Saihanba. It grows on the increasingly brilliant green cause of Saihanba, and embodies the hard work, sweat and life of several generations of Saihanba people.

Saihanba spirit is a complete spiritual system with hard struggle as the core, scientific and realistic, pioneering and innovative as the support, and selfless dedication as the value orientation. It is full of the lofty ambition of Saihanba people to join the "green cause" and embodies the unique ideal pursuit of Saihanba people.

On February 25th, 20021year, the national summary and commendation meeting for tackling poverty was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Saihanba Machinery Forest Farm in Hebei Province won the honorary title of "National Model of Poverty Alleviation" in the name of collective.

Background:

Saihanba is located in the north of Weichang County, Chengde City, Hebei Province. In the early years, it was a part of Mulan paddock in Qing Dynasty. During the Tongzhi period, thousands of pine forests were deforested.

At the beginning of the founding of New China, the former virgin forest has become a barren plateau with no trees and yellow sand covering the sky. Over the past century, Saihanba has changed from a "beautiful mountain" to a vast wasteland.

1962, Saihanba mechanical forest farm was formally established. 127 college graduates from 18 provinces and cities across the country, together with local cadres and workers, formed an entrepreneurial team of 369 people, which opened the historical curtain of afforestation in Saihanba.
