What did the ancients have?
Kissing is also called "marrying" and "marrying a daughter-in-law", which is equivalent to "kissing" in "Six Rites". One of the ancient traditional marriage customs of Han nationality. Originated in the Zhou Dynasty. Usually, the groom personally goes to the woman's house to marry the bride, but in some places in Xinzhou and Lvliang, there are also matchmakers or brother-in-law who walk in front of the wedding procession and the groom sits at home. The day before the wedding, the man gave a banquet to thank the media and distributed sweet soup to the neighborhood. At night, the groom sleeps with Lang Tou (also known as Lang, referring to unmarried teenagers). On the wedding day, "Look at mom's plate" took the lead. There must be a goose on mother's table. Goose was born in ancient times and formally proposed to the woman. Because the goose's spouse is single-minded about life, it symbolizes the firmness and harmony of marriage. Later generations replaced geese with geese.

Also known as "marry" and "marry a daughter-in-law", it is equal to "pro" in "Six Rites". Return a gift to sb.

edit

When the woman returns the gift, she must have a five-color cloth bag shaped like a handkerchief, which means that five generations live under one roof. Since the Southern Song Dynasty, Ningbo people have the custom of sitting in a sedan chair to marry the bride. It is said that overseas Chinese were sent by Zhao Gou, King of Song Kang. The sedan chair was carried by four people, followed by a special escort for the bride, and came to Xin.

At the bride's house, the woman set off firecrackers to welcome her. At this time, the children stopped the sedan chair and wouldn't let them in, so the sedan chair had to send some gifts (called "sedan chair door paper bag"). At this time, as usual, the bride is too late to get on the sedan chair, commonly known as "getting on the sedan chair." [ 1]

After the "three invitations" and "four clean-ups" of the wedding guests, I saw the bride wearing a summer dress, a rockhopper and a red square scarf, being carried into the sedan chair by her brother or being led into the sedan chair by her brother. Before getting on the sedan chair, his mother gave him a mouthful of "sedan chair rice" to show that he did not forget the kindness of raising. Then the mother and daughter burst into tears. There is a saying: "My mother's family cried loudly, and her husband's family went up." After the bride sits in the sedan chair, she can't move her seat. There is only copper fire under the seat, and the internal combustion is charcoal fire.

And Rong Xiang, with the sedan chair, needs two young men to move slowly. This is called pressing the sedan chair. When the sedan chair arrives, the groom's family will arrange someone to pick it up. When they meet, men present cakes to women as a sign of respect. At this time, the bearers lit a bag of cigarettes from the fire and sucked them back one by one, which is called "receiving incense". Hakka custom

edit

The custom of welcoming relatives in Hakka marriage is unique. On the wedding day, the bride and her family dressed up together.

Hakka wedding banquet

Have a "farewell meal" at the same table. After dinner, the bride pays homage to her ancestors, bids farewell to her parents, stands on the rice screen with eight Tai Chi pictures, "crosses the rice screen" and puts on new shoes. Then, her father, brother or elder carries a sedan chair (mostly a car now) and pours a bowl of water, which means that the married daughter is like spilled water, suggesting that the husband and wife will grow old together. At this time, the bride burst into tears, indicating that she had not forgotten her parents' kindness.

In the old society, all newly-married women were married in sedan chairs, and besides sedan chairs, there were other people's wedding procession. At the front of the wedding procession, followed by the matchmaker's sedan chair, the band, the two children's light sedan chair, then the bride's sedan chair, and finally the dowry procession, the whole procession was vast, attracting a large audience and adding a lively atmosphere.

Legend has it that at the earliest time, a bride's sedan chair crossed the new bridge that had not been cut, and the bridge keeper did not let it pass, which was very clever.

The bride got off the sedan chair and said to the bridge keeper, "The couple crossed the new bridge and Wannian Bridge got married for a hundred years." This touched the bridge keeper and made an exception to let the bride's sedan chair pass, which later became a custom and has been handed down. [2]
